Implant-Retained Maxillary and Mandibular Overdentures - A Solution for Completely Edentulous Patients

چکیده

The main goal of modern removable prosthodontics is to restore the normal appearance, function, esthetics and speech in each completely edentulous patient. However, if all teeth are missing a patient, it becomes very complicated achieve using traditional protocols. Therefore, implants were introduced into ensure better retention stability conventional dentures. In case large amount bone jaw necessary functioning dentures constructing various additional stabilizing retentive prosthodontic solutions on osseointegrated implants. Numerous types attachment systems have been used recently for relating implant-retained overdentures underlying implants: basically splinting (various bar shape designs) non-splinting attachments ball type attachment, magnet telescopic coping systems). Indications their use depend surgical factors such as number position implants, free intermaxillary space size overdentures. Different indications, will be discussed this chapter.
